The Andaman and Nicobar Islands, an Indian archipelago, have a history that dates back to ancient times. Once a naval base for colonial powers like the British, who established the infamous Cellular Jail, these islands were off-limits to outsiders for centuries. Today, the islands are a thriving tourist destination, known for their stunning beaches, rich biodiversity, and marine life.

Geographical Location

The islands have a tropical climate with moderate temperatures ranging between 23°C and 31°C throughout the year. The best time to visit is between October and May, during the dry season, when the weather is pleasant and ideal for beach activities and exploring the islands’ lush rainforests.

Climate

Kashmir experiences four distinct seasons: spring (March to May), summer (June to August), autumn (September to November), and winter (December to February). The best time to visit depends on what you want to experience—spring and summer for the blooming gardens and lush valleys, and winter for snow sports and the famous Shikara rides on the frozen Dal Lake.

Hindi and English are widely spoken in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The culture of the islands is a mix of indigenous traditions and influences from settlers from mainland India. Visitors will experience a laid-back, welcoming atmosphere, with local festivals and events celebrating the islands’ unique heritage.

The currency used is the Indian Rupee (INR). Credit cards are accepted in most hotels and larger establishments, though it’s advisable to carry cash, as many remote areas may not have ATM facilities.
